Are You Ready to Get What You're Wishing For?

I've come to understand that, while we can come up with thousands of stories and excuses about why we don't get what we want in life, there is really only one reason why we aren't already living our dreams:

We aren't being the people who can actually receive those dreams!

All of our habits and patterns are influenced and/or reinforced by what I collectively call our "environment"—the thoughts, emotions, people, surroundings, spiritual practices, and physical body you live with every day. And until we understand how to shift these in a way that creates alignment with our dreams, we will always remain just a fingertip's length away from actually touching, embodying, and merging with our desires.

TRUTH: In order to get what you want, you have to evolve into the kind of person who can actually receive, sustain, and embody what you want.

If you have a big dream, consider this: if you got your dream tomorrow, all the little things that challenge you about your life wouldn't be magically changed. They would be magnified

But don't worry, there's a solution. I call it conscious evolution.

Evolve into the person who embodies your dream

When we make a choice to live, today, as the kinds of people who can receive, sustain, and embody our dreams, and make small changes to the six factors of our environment to support those changes, we will begin to evolve in the direction of our desires.

Incremental change isn't super-exciting (at least, not until you start seeing results). It's not glamorous. It's not overnight success. But it's a hell of a lot more reliable and empowering than waiting for some fairy godmother or talent agent, or angel investor to notice us and magically change our lives.

We have the power to become anything. With perseverance, focused attention, patience, and awareness, we can change anything, learn anything, do anything. This is universal. There is no one who is incapable of evolving. The key is to identify the values and experiences we want to magnify through our successes, and look at where the gaps are between those values and how we are currently operating in our lives. Then, we can break down the necessary changes into manageable, bite-sized actions that we can implement without freaking out.

For example, if you want to become more abundant in your business, but your clients never pay on time, you might ask, "How would a successful business owner handle this?" Chances are, that person would have clear policies in place, and a system for dealing with tardy payments. So, how can you be more like that person? Maybe you could write out your payment policies, or watch a YouTube video on boundary-setting. Maybe you could look at your own financial life, and see where you're not paying your own bills on time. No matter what the action is, it's a step toward becoming that successful business owner.

Simple? Sure. Doable? Definitely!

Happy evolving!
